Key Responsibilities
As the Junior Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial analysis and ensuring the accuracy of financial information that drives critical business decisions. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
• Assist with the reconciliation of complex balance sheet accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliation's.
• Analyze financial performance, interpret variances from budget, and provide insights to senior management.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries and monthly standard entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Fixed Asset Management:
• Support the monthly posting and reconciliation of depreciation, ensuring that assets are correctly capitalized or disposed of per company policies.
• Prepare monthly continuity schedules and coordinate the annual asset count to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
• Perform monthly reconciliation and reporting of GST/PST to tax authorities.
• Ensure accurate data is provided to tax authorities for audits and compliance reviews.
• Serve as the primary contact for sample support and files during provincial tax audits.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
• Collaborate with the IT team to provide support on system-related matters, including error handling and user acceptance testing for financial systems.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams to document and improve financial policies, processes, and workflows.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience, with a focus on business operations.
• Candidates working towards their CPA designation will be prioritized.
Technical Skills:
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Familiarity with ERP systems is an asset.

• Effective time management with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
