This is a key supporting role within a high-performing payroll function that is evolving alongside the business. The team is looking for someone who can step in quickly, take ownership of day-to-day Canadian payroll activities, and help ensure smooth, accurate payroll delivery during a busy and dynamic time.

This position is best suited to an experienced payroll professional who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is confident working within Workday.

About the Role

This role will support the Canadian payroll stream, working closely with an established payroll team that includes both Canadian and U.S. coverage. You will play an important role in the day-to-day execution of payroll activities, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting broader payroll operations and compliance requirements.

This is a great opportunity to join a team that is collaborative, experienced, and focused on continuous improvement within their payroll processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end Canadian payroll processing in a high-volume environment
  • Execute regular payroll cycles, adjustments, and validations with accuracy and efficiency
  • Process ROEs, statutory remittances, and payroll deductions
  • Support year-end payroll activities including reconciliations and reporting
  • Assist with workers’ compensation and payroll-related benefit deductions
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and support issue resolution
  • Maintain accurate payroll data within Workday
  • Contribute to payroll audit support and documentation
  • Support ongoing Workday payroll enhancements and system improvements
  • Work closely with payroll colleagues across Canada and the U.S.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of Canadian payroll experience
  • Strong foundational knowledge of core payroll processes, including:
  • ROEs
  • WCB
  • EHT
  • Payroll compliance and statutory requirements
  • Payroll deductions and reconciliations
  • Year-end payroll processes
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (1–2 years experience)
  • PCP designation is preferred, or actively working toward completion
  • Ability to step into a fast-paced environment and contribute quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, execution-focused role
  • Unionized payroll experience is an asset
  • Exposure to pensions (DB/DC) is an asset
  • U.S. payroll experience is an asset, but not required
