The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and enhancing corporate properties, influencing design standards, supporting sustainability initiatives, and contributing to projects that directly affect customer experience and organizational image.
Key Responsibilities
As the Landscape Architect, you will lead the planning, design, enhancement, and maintenance of landscape environments across multiple locations while ensuring consistency, sustainability, and alignment with organizational standards.
Landscape Planning & Horticultural Management
- Develop planting plans that support visually appealing and regionally appropriate landscapes across multiple locations.
- Select plant species based on climate conditions, soil characteristics, and long-term sustainability requirements to maximize landscape performance.
- Create seasonal maintenance schedules and landscape care guidelines that support consistent property upkeep.
- Monitor landscape conditions and provide recommendations to address pest, disease, irrigation, and environmental concerns.
Landscape Design & Site Enhancements
- Design and enhance exterior spaces that improve property aesthetics, functionality, and overall customer experience.
- Prepare concept drawings, planting plans, and site layouts to support project planning and successful implementation.
- Recommend sustainable landscape solutions, including native plant selections and water-efficient design practices.
- Contribute innovative ideas that elevate the visual impact and long-term value of corporate properties.
Project Management & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate landscape improvement projects from concept through completion while maintaining quality, budget, and schedule expectations.
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review project proposals and vendor quotes to support cost-effective decision-making.
- Conduct site visits to verify installation quality, landscape performance, and adherence to project specifications.
Corporate Standards & Brand Alignment
- Develop and maintain landscape design standards that ensure consistency across all corporate locations.
- Support new construction projects, renovations, and facility expansions by providing landscape design expertise.
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental stewardship while enhancing property presentation and usability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with facilities, construction, design, and operations teams to align landscape initiatives with broader organizational objectives.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations to stakeholders regarding landscape design, maintenance strategies, and site improvements.
- Foster strong working relationships across departments to support successful project execution and long-term landscape performance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in landscape design, horticulture, landscape maintenance, or related commercial environments is required.
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations or large-scale landscape portfolios is considered a strong asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of plant species, horticultural practices, and landscape design principles across Canadian climate zones.
- Experience preparing planting plans, site layouts, and landscape concepts using AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, soil management practices, and sustainable landscaping techniques.
- Familiarity with project coordination, vendor management, and landscape maintenance programs.
