Key Responsibilities
As the Insurance Broker Relations Specialist, you will play a vital role in strengthening relationships with brokers while supporting their professional development and business growth. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers across Alberta to understand their needs and priorities.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring brokers are aware of resources, training, and opportunities available to them.
  • Education and Advocacy:

    • Promote educational programs and initiatives designed to enhance brokers’ knowledge and professionalism.
    • Act as an advocate for brokers by relaying their feedback to internal stakeholders and shaping programs that address their concerns.
  • Travel and Outreach:

    • Travel extensively within Alberta (up to 50%) to connect with brokers, host events, and deliver presentations.
    • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Operational Support:

    • Assist brokers with navigating licensing requirements and regulatory processes.
    • Contribute to the development of tools, programs, and campaigns that benefit members and their businesses.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • Education & Experience:

    • A Level 2 General Insurance License is required.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial insurance or related fields.
    • Previous experience in a broker-facing or relationship-focused role is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and presentation software.
    • Strong knowledge of insurance practices, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Key Competencies:

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility.
    • A proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
    • Flexibility to travel within Alberta up to 50% of the time.
