Key Responsibilities

As the Industrial Sales Representative – Chemicals, you will be responsible for driving sales growth within your assigned territory by developing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering technical solutions that help customers improve operational performance.

Business Development

• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory through strategic prospecting and relationship-building activities.

• Generate qualified leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.

• Develop and execute territory growth plans that align with business objectives and market opportunities.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations.

 

Account Management & Customer Success

• Maintain and grow existing customer relationships by providing exceptional service and ongoing support.

• Conduct regular customer visits to understand evolving business needs and identify opportunities for growth.

• Recommend additional products and solutions that create value and improve customer operations.

• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and responsive service.

 

Technical Sales & Solution Delivery

• Assess customer processes, operational challenges, and application requirements to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Recommend appropriate chemical solutions based on customer needs and technical requirements.

• Conduct product demonstrations, field trials, and customer evaluations to support solution implementation.

• Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and product training to maximize customer success.

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and optimization of chemical-related equipment as required.

• Perform on-site testing and analysis to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.

 

Territory & Sales Management

• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity reports, and account information.

• Prepare territory updates, forecasts, and performance reports for leadership.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.

• Collaborate with internal customer service and support teams to ensure seamless account management.

• Manage sales pipelines effectively and maintain consistent activity levels to support business growth.

Qualifications

 

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience with a proven track record of achieving sales growth.

• Experience managing a sales territory and developing long-term customer relationships.

• Previous experience in the chemical, industrial, manufacturing, or related sectors is considered a strong asset.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related business software.

• Ability to learn and communicate technical product information effectively.

• Experience conducting product demonstrations, technical consultations, or equipment-related support is considered an asset.
