Assistant Controller
Job Description
Our client is a fast growing leader in Energy Services is currently seeking a detail oriented and driven Assistant Controller to join a supportive finance team of 12.
Role Responsibilities
• Manage the preparation of the internal monthly financial statements and reporting packages
• Provide oversight and support for accounts payable and receivable processes
• Oversee annual audit file preparation
• Oversee the preparation of the revenue and expense budgets for departments.
• Monitor monthly results and compare/highlight significant variances
• Make recommendations to reduce overhead and operating costs.
• Train accounting staff as required.
• Monitor/maintain intercompany transactions
Experience & Requirements
• A recognized Canadian Commerce or Accounting degree or equivalent
• A CPA designation or intention to acquire a CPA designation
• Will have a minimum of 5 years working in full-cycle accounting processes
• Will have proven and progressive experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll
• Will have strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in US accounting and taxes would be an asset along with Provincial Sales Tax would be an asset;

• Bachelor's Degree (required)

• Accounting: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
• CPA required
