ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - ENGINEERING – EDMONTON, AB

Calling all experienced administrators with industry knowledge in engineering or oil and gas. This is a 6-month temporary position with the possibility of an extension. Available to start immediately, apply now!

The Opportunity

This individual will be providing administrative support to the Engineering Team and the Vice President. The successful candidate will have professional and clear communication skills with excellent attention to detail and will be able to hit the ground running. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30 and located in Downtown Edmonton.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Deliver administrative assistance in both formal and informal communications, ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Provide support to the departments special programs and initiatives including travel arranges, creating reports, ordering, and tracking of PPE.
  • Manage company’s P-Card, reconciliation of statements with invoices, purchase requisitions, and submit in a timely manner; create purchase requests and process invoices through Oracle and Maximo.
  • Assist in coordinating, and facilitation of department meetings, off-site events, and prepare catering orders.
  • Prepare and edit meeting materials as needed from senior leadership, schedule board meetings and take meeting minutes as required.
  • Other administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Education in Office Administration; Business Writing or Event Management are assets.
  • Minimum 3 years of office administration experience; experience in Engineering or Oil and Gas industry is a strong asset.
  • Professional written and verbal communication Skills with high attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suites skills including, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Experience in invoicing, purchase requisitions is required; Oracle is an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay will be based on experience.
