The Opportunity

Our client operates a successful, and growing, mobile metal recycling company, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Specialist to join their team. This role will focus on the oil and gas sector and is crucial for driving business growth through strategic bidding and establishing strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in oil & gas services sales in Western Canada. Previous decommissioning and/or metal salvage services experience would be very helpful.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new business opportunities within the oil and gas industry.
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve company goals and increase market share.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of bids and proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry contacts.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts, ensuring favourable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Regularly travel throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan to meet clients, attend industry events, and conduct site visits.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgy and/or environmental services is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proven track record of successful business development and sales achievements.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
