Job Title: Civil Engineer Lead

Role:

As the Lead Civil Engineer, you'll be instrumental in overseeing the design and approval of civil engineering works, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and project specifications. Your leadership will guide the team through complex projects, fostering collaboration and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and approval of civil engineering works for subdivision and corporate projects, adhering to Provincial and Municipal standards.
  • Provide expertise in civil design elements, including grading, stormwater management, and underground utilities.
  • Mentor and lead the civil design team, driving project success and professional development.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and sub-consultants for various project requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and engineering reports to support project deliverables.
  • Conduct field inspections during construction phases and address design-related issues as they arise.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer with a Civil Engineering degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a consulting office, demonstrating proficiency in civil engineering design.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD & Civil 3D software for design and drafting purposes.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in site surveying and knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC) is advantageous.
