Key Responsibilities
As the Structural Engineering Lead, you will oversee and guide the structural engineering team, ensuring the successful design and execution of complex projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Project Leadership & Design Oversight:
- Lead the structural engineering design process for major projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver effective, innovative solutions.
- Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and designs, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.

Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional development and technical growth.
- Provide leadership to junior engineers, helping them achieve their full potential through training and constructive feedback.
- Delegate responsibilities and manage team workload to ensure timely project delivery.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and consultants.
- Manage client expectations and ensure that engineering solutions align with project goals and timelines.
- Lead project meetings, providing technical insights and updates to all involved parties.

Quality Control & Risk Management:
- Perform thorough reviews of design and construction documents to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with structural design, providing solutions to avoid delays and issues during construction.
- Ensure all designs are in line with safety standards and environmental regulations.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, integrating innovative solutions into engineering strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the structural engineering team, promoting efficiency, safety, and quality across projects.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex commercial and industrial projects.
- Previous experience managing teams and mentoring junior engineers is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS) is essential.
- Solid understanding of building codes, design standards, and regulations.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is an asset.
