Job Title: Structural Engineer

Opportunity:

Role:

This role oversees the structural engineering aspects of projects, from design to approval, and involves preparing various documents including reports, estimates, and contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and approval process for structural engineering works in new construction and renovation projects.
  • Develop detailed structural plans, technical specifications, and drawings for all projects.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the structural design team as necessary.
  • Evaluate engineering options during the planning stages and offer recommendations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors as needed for project completion.
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender documents, and engineering reports.
  • Conduct conceptual and detailed design calculations in accordance with industry standards.
  • Investigate and resolve field and design-related issues, generating comprehensive reports.
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings for structural systems and components.
  • Collaborate with clients, authorities, and contractors throughout project lifecycles.
  • Conduct site inspections during construction and address project-related concerns.
  • Manage contract administration tasks including attending meetings and reviewing project documents.
  • Work closely with other internal departments to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Proficiency in Tekla, StaadPro, and AutoDesk AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with AutoDesk Revit is advantageous.
  • Possess LEED® AP Certification (preferred).
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a consulting office, with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in Saskatchewan or other applicable provinces.
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
