Program Portfolio Lead

Location: Calgary (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Program Portfolio lead that will support management and growth of Delegated Authorities (DUA) and play a key role in quality control, analysis, portfolio underwriting, risk management, and business development. You will have experience underwriting a variety of commercial segments and products, with specialized expertise in program (DUA) lifecycle management, e.g. initial due diligence, contract development, process development, on boarding, monitoring/auditing, optimizing, and if needed, exit. Candidate must have experience analysing  and manipulating large data.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Client Engagement: engage with our program partners to build and maintain positive relationships, and drive growth 
  • Quality control: help develop, and then monitor and manage well-structured processes 
  • Audits: help develop audit structure and perform regular program audits and related reports
  • Analytics and Reporting: working with data analyst, manipulate and analyze portfolio data to extract insights and trends from existing or potential books/programs, to inform underwriting decisions, risk management strategies and business development opportunities. Provide quarterly analysis and reporting of program KPI’s
  • Referrals: Review and approve risks that fall outside of DUA authorities
  • Claims Monitoring: Monitor program claims activity including large/complex claims

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 Years' experience in Program (DUA) Underwriting and Portfolio Management
  • 5 Years' experience in commercial underwriting (Property Casualty)   
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Ability to manage broker relationships, and negotiation
  • CIP designation or working towards
  • High level professionalism and integrity 

Preferred:

  • Post secondary education 
  • Established relationship with mid-large size account (tier 2)national brokers MGA's 
  • Experienced with specialized/niche/ancillary insurance products (outside Property Casualty)
